Jumbo Celadon – Adult Quail

Jumbo Celadons are finally here! These birds are big, they’re 100% true Celadons, and include feather varieties. Originally developed by Rebecca Lynch at Thieving Otter Farm, (hatching eggs available here); we’ve narrowed the plumage to emphasize feather sexable varieties for breeding groups and hen orders. We’re very excited to offer these.

What to expect: All birds will breed 100% true for the Celadon trait, laying smooth or lightly speckled blue eggs. They will comfortably hit jumbo weights of 10-12 ounces, lay 12-14 gram eggs, and come in two unique and beautiful plumages: Red Pansy, and Ginger Pansy. In limited amounts the collocation also includes Red and Ginger Sparkly. The Pansy plumages are feather sexable, and carry slightly different dilutions giving red and orange hues to the beautiful Pansy feather pattern.

A breeding quintet includes four (4) females and one (1) male, which is our recommended ratio for breeding.  The displayed price for the breeding quintet is for five (5) birds, and the displayed price for males and females is per bird.
